  7.  *WARNING* This software may not work! If you decide to run or use this
  8. program you should be aware that this is a BETA version and not at all
  9. as stable as a normal FrexxEd version is.
  10.  All legal and usage matters are the same in this beta version as in all
  11. other FrexxEd releases and can be read in detail in the manual.

  13.  This beta release, should be useable. It has a few known bugs though.

  15.  STILL NOT DONE IN THIS RELEASE

  17.  We have not yet fixed the new translations for v2, why you may find a bunch
  18. of texts that are english instead of your locale language.
  19.  We have not included the FPL compiler (available as a separate beta package
  20. from the WWW-site(s) or from email from the authors).
  21.  Our new GUI-system is not included.

  29.  * LESS CRIPPLED. The load-size-limit is now removed. It will now only pop up
  30.    a requester about this being a non-registered version every time a file
  31.    bigger than ~60K is loaded.

  33.  * FrexxEdStart.rx updated (partly by Mathias Axelsson). Features a new option
  34.    'FORCENEW' that makes it pop up the new buffer in a new window (could still
  35.    use some fixing up). The FrexxEd startup-timeout has also been greatly
  36.    extended which at least in my tests shows that it (and startfred/freds)
  37.    works even if FrexxEd wasn't previously started.

  39.  * New Face Style editor. Easy-to-use modification of the syntax highligtning
  40.    while waiting for the real GUI-fied prefs window.

  42.  * Easier use of the C-indent mode. Simply execute Cmode.FPL. Nothing else,
  43.    nothing weirder. Added two items to the .FAQ regarding that.

  45.  * Seleting 'Window->New' now should pop up the window more intuitiv as a
  46.    window even if used on a screen, and on the same screen that the already
  47.    used FrexxEd is on. 'Window->New Screen' opens up a new editor screen.

  50.    as it should on a CV64 true-colour mode?

  52.  * Unfreed signal when doing 'fred ?' are now freed (silly little beast that

  55.  * The string part in the FACT() call accepts #? for the present un-modified

  58.  * FACT(-6, ...) modifies the 'character' used for all non-text areas on the
  59.    screen. That is all places on the screen where no spaces or letters are.
  60.    For the moment only space can be used for character, but you may select
  61.    any pen for i.e a revered one...

  63.  * ReadInfo("colour", bufid, color_no) - let's you read the actual colour of
  64.    any pen on the screen of the 'bufid'. The result can be used as input to
  65.    the ColorAdjust() function. This can be used to store and load a wider
  66.    part of the palette than FrexxEd does by default itself (pen 0-3).

  87.  NEW STUFF IN V2 IN GENERAL

  89.  The main new things for FrexxEd v2 is the multi-window ability and the
  90. "faces" - different style/colour on different areas of a buffer.

  93.    We have introduced a whole new menu title stuffed with various window-
  94.    supporting functions. Try them, use them, and tell us what functions you
  95.    lack among them! You should also try using multiple window a bit and see
  96.    that FrexxEd deals with them the way you want it to.
  97.    You can make FrexxEd pop up all new buffers in new windows, by setting
  98.    the 'popup_view' setting to 'NewWindow'.
  99.

  101.    We made a quick fix for the CIndent.FPL program to support C-aware styling.
  102.    It will now colour all programs in C-mode, it is of course still
  103.    switchable in the C-indent prefs window.
  104.    Jørgen Larsen supported us with the EFace.FPL program that will supply a
  105.    E-aware styling. Not yet incorporated in his EMode.FPL but still possible
  106.    to use and try!
  107.

  109.    - CIndent.FPL is improved,
  110.    - Menu.FPL is changed to better apply to Amiga (and CED) standards together
  111.      with better prefs windows.
  112.    - Window.FPL contains the new FPL coded windows functions
  113.    - CMode.FPL replaces the old one with the same name.
  114.    - FaceEdit.FPL contains the face style edit function
